As part of the newly established project, Maria and her team are trying to understand how urban trees and their pollen and microorganisms promote respiratory health or exacerbate autoimmune diseases in humans. From the pictures, you can see an overview of their trip through the island of Montreal where they collected leaves and air samples to study urban microorganisms.
