La saison de terrain 2026 est officiellement lancée et, avec elle, de nouveaux visages dynamiques se joignent à l’équipe. Cette année, quatre formidables stagiaires contribueront aux projets menés à la fois à IDENT et à Montréal. Mathilde est étudiante en école d’ingénieur en France dans le domaine de l’environnement, à l’ENTPE à Lyon. Elle se joint au labo pour aider sur tous les projets IDENT qui auront lieu cette été. Sophie est en dernière année de baccalauréat en biologie à l'UQAM et travaillera sur le cèdre blanc (Thuja occidentalis) et son rôle dans la forêt urbaine. Renaude vient de compléter sa première année au baccalauréat en biologie à l’UQAM et travaillera également sur ce projet. Finalement, Pénélope, étudiante à l’UQAM avec une passion du monde vivant, identifiera des araignées urbaines.

Panawun, a recent graduate of the environmental and wildlife management program offered by Vanier college, is helping advance Jeremy’s PhD project on urban insect biodiversity. She has been hard at work assisting with arthropod DNA extractions and hopes her time with the PaqLab will allow her to gain more experience, develop her skills and deepen her understanding in the field of ecology. 

With a background in computer engineering, Panawun aspires to become an interdisciplinary environmental technician who serves the community through science. With the quality of work we have seen from her thus far, we  know that this is sure to come to fruition!
