In a current context where the number and size of cities are increasing, it seems fundamental to look at both the place of the urban tree but also its functioning and its interactions with the external biotic environment. The objective of the postdoctoral fellowship will be to evaluate the effects of variation in tree species and functional diversity on the response of the trees themselves. This work will be carried out in both experimental and urban settings, with the objective of highlighting natural processes that can provide ecosystem services such as urban cooling and promote the development of green zones in cities. The research will focus more particularly on underground processes (roots, microorganisms, soils).
